Planned gas works in Dumbreck will commence on Tuesday 17 April.
Phase one starts on Tuesday 17 April, lasting approximately six weeks:
During phase one, SGN will be working in Dalkeith Avenue at its junction with Fleurs Avenue. Their work will progress west along Dalkeith Avenue to its junction with Dumbreck Road and will take approximately three weeks.
From Tuesday 1 May, work will start in Erskine Avenue and Torridon Avenue, between its junction with Dalkeith Avenue and Nithsdale Road. This work will take approximately four weeks. There will be no traffic management required for this phase.
Phase two starts on Tuesday 22 May, lasting approximately four weeks:
Phase two will take place in Nithsdale Road starting at its junction with Fleurs Avenue, progressing west towards Torridon Avenue.
SGN will also be working in Melfort Ave, starting at its junction with Dalkeith Ave working south towards Nithsdale Road. This work will take approximately two weeks. As part of this phase they will be working in Dumbreck Road, where there is pedestrian access to Dalkeith Avenue. For everyone's safety, the contractor will need to put temporary two-way lights in place in Dumbreck Road during this phase.
To minimise disruption, they will be working extended hours and at weekends to complete work as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted on the website https://www.sgn.co.uk/Roadworks/Scotland-projects/ and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep commuters informed.
